Weekly Update

November 13th, 2003

Hello from Charlotte!

The Council of Elders conference is only a few days away and counting. The meetings will run from Monday, Nov. 17th through the 20th. Thankfully, all 15 of the Council members will be able to attend this conference, including Mr. Syd Hull from South Africa and Mr. Bruce Tyler from Australia. There will be a Regional Pastors conference on the 21st. As always, we appreciate your prayers asking God's guidance and blessing on both of these very important conferences.

CHURCH ADMINISTRATION

We are happy to report that Mr. and Mrs. Dan Friz have now completed their work in the pastoral training program. They are being assigned to Michigan to pastor four congregations in the Lansing area, which includes Lansing, Kalamazoo, Plymouth and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Congratulations to them and to the congregations they will be serving!

Canadian Update

Mr. Gerald Weston sent this report about the Work in Canada: Reports have been positive concerning all three Canadian Feast sites. We moved to a new location on Prince Edward Island and this turned out to be a real hit with everyone—the hall was warm and inviting, housing was very affordable, and personnel at the establishment were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Reports have been very positive concerning the messages delivered at all sites.

Guelph has seen two brand new families in the last two months, which has been very encouraging to the members there. We started distributing the Internet Ad cards following the Feast—it is too early to assess any results—but our goal is to distribute 50,000 by the end of November. We started Leaders of Tomorrow (a Spokesman Club designed for teens and young adults) here in Toronto, and will be starting up adult Spokesman Club again November 9 after a summer break. I took a trip to Saskatchewan at the end of October and have plans for a trip to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia the first part of December.

COMMENTS

There is inspiring news about Church attendance around the world in the Living Church of God. From January to September this year, we had a 9.58% increase in total average monthly attendance. There is a 10.7% increase just in the U.S. So as we continue to press forward in the Work of God, excellent fruit is being borne. Paul said in I Cor. 3: 7, "So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase." Certainly, we have our part to do, but it is God who actually produces the increase. Let's thank Him for the growth that is now taking place in His Work and be encouraged that the best is yet to come!

Have a happy Sabbath,

Charles E. Bryce
