Dear Brethren and Co-Workers with Christ,
Warm greetings from Charlotte, NC! My friends, truly exciting prophetic events are cascading across North Africa and the Middle East! All the way from Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Lebanon and elsewhere, enormous political upheavals have been occurring—sometimes completely overthrowing top government leaders! Nothing like this has happened in that part of the world for decades.
Although the world’s media gives us the details of these events, and television records the vivid images of these ongoing political upheavals, they do not remotely understand what all of this means—and where it is surely going to lead. For that genuine understanding, we have to turn to the inspired Word of Almighty God. One of the greatest monarchs of all history was King Nebuchadnezzar, King of ancient Babylon, the “head of gold” described in Daniel 2:37-40. However, like so many of our modern leaders, educators and even professing Christian ministers, Nebuchadnezzar was very self-willed and vain, and was unwilling to humble himself and recognize that the God of the Bible is not only our Creator but the active Ruler over the nations of men. So God sentenced him to seven years of insanity and banishment from his throne.
Why?
God answers, “This decision is by the decree of the watchers, and the sentence by the word of the holy ones, in order that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, gives it to whomever He will, and sets over it the lowest of men” (Daniel 4:17). The Bible is very clear that—when He chooses—God intervenes in the affairs of human governments, in the weather, and the entire world situation. He usually sets over the governments of this world “the lowest of men” (v. 17). Then, the Eternal God guides the course of world affairs, overall, to accomplish His supreme purpose!
Right now, in the prophesied “last days,” God has specifically predicted that an entire group of Arab states will get together in a confederation with plans to overthrow and even destroy modern “Israel”—just before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ! Back in Psalm 83, God’s Word prophetically describes the preparatory events to this terrible calamity. He describes how those nations consult together and say, “‘Come, and let us cast them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.’ For they have consulted together with one consent; they form a confederacy against You: the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites; Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre” (Psalm 83:4-7). Note that this confederacy will be composed of the descendants of Edom and of the Ishmaelites, among others. Many Bible scholars recognize that the descendants of “Ishmael” (Genesis 16:10-12) are a warlike people and that the modern people of Moab and Ammon are now found primarily in Jordan (with “Amman” as the capital) and among the peoples of Lebanon and the Palestinians. The primarily “Ishmaelite” peoples are scattered throughout Egypt, the Gulf States and other North African nations.
These are the very people now involved in the furious riots and overthrows of government throughout that region—freeing up the situation for them to get together and form the prophesied “King of the South.” For your Bible clearly predicts that at the “time of the end” (Daniel 11:40-45) a powerful Arab Confederation will become strong enough and arrogant enough to attack or “provoke” the soon-coming Beast Power in Europe! Although they will probably “give it a good try,” the technological superiority of the Beast Power will simply overwhelm this Arab Confederation.
Again, God’s inspired Word clearly indicates that those nations which will be involved are the modern Egyptians, Libyans and Ethiopians along with other allies in that region. Although modern “Israel”—the “glorious land”—will be overthrown, the peoples of modern Jordan shall “escape” from the conquering Beast Power (v. 41). Is this because the sanctuary of “Petra” is controlled by modern Jordan and may become a “Place of Safety” for God’s true Church (Revelation 12:12-17)? Time will tell.
However, my friends, awesome events are now underway to prepare the way for these final events leading up to Christ’s return! For within the next several years, you will no doubt read about and “see” in the television news the starting of animal sacrifices on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. You will “see” this soon-coming confederation of Arab states beginning to merge. You will “see” the growing hatred of the modern Edomites and Ishmaelites for the nation calling itself “Israel.” And you will also “see” the growing resentment and hatred towards the peoples of America and those of British descent throughout the world. These events were long ago prophesied by the true God—the God very few people know about or understand in our confused modern society. But that very real God is now beginning to intervene in human affairs and make Himself known to those people who are genuinely humble and willing to learn and to understand.
But yes! There will be all kinds of important-sounding meetings and conferences of the leaders of this world trying to “solve” the problems of the Middle East and the status of the city of Jerusalem. However, they will not succeed. For they will leave the God of heaven completely out of their plans and deliberations. And so God—the real God of the Bible—proclaims, “The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations” (Psalm 33:10-11).
Very soon after these end-time events described in Daniel 11 and after the Great Tribulation described in Daniel 12:1-3, the living Jesus Christ will come roaring down from heaven as the conquering King! For He is the prophesied “stone”—the Rock of Israel—who will “break in pieces” the governments of this world and He will rule forever (Daniel 2:44-45).
May God help you to genuinely understand!
This very “Work” of proclaiming God’s message through this magazine and the Tomorrow’s World television program is now being used by God to warn the world, and to warn and help you—if you are willing to listen. For we are being used by God to help prepare the way for the coming Kingdom of God on this earth which alone will bring genuine peace and joy. The true God warns the deceived nations (Revelation 12:9) of this world, “Look among the nations and watch—be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you” (Habakkuk 1:5).
For your sake, for your very survival—I pray that many thousands of you dear co-workers will open your mind to study and to prove what God is telling you right now and that some will be willing to act on the Truth of God while you have the opportunity. For the more you sincerely “seek God,” the more you pray for and get involved in this very end-time Work which Jesus Christ is now accomplishing, the more you will be able to “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven” (Matthew 6:19-21).
Let us all earnestly do our part in really preparing for the Kingdom of God and do all we can to help “turn many to righteousness” as the end of this human society approaches (Daniel 12:1-3). We all need to fervently ask God for the understanding and for the courage to act on His Truth.
