Feast of Trumpets 2019: Why Trumpets?

Wallace G. Smith

“In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the LORD” (Leviticus 23:24–25). But why did God set aside a day for the blowing of trumpets? What should we learn from the association of trumpets with one of God’s annual Holy Days?

Spiritual Preparation for the Fall Feasts

Scott D. Winnail

Do God’s yearly festivals—especially the Fall Holy Days—sometimes sneak up on us physically or even spiritually? In this sermon, Dr. Scott Winnail asks the question, “Does God expect us to be excited about attending the Holy Days?” He then discusses four ways to take action before and during the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, the Feast of Tabernacles, and the Last Great Day in order to be ready to worship as God intends and to benefit the most from these observances.
