Dear Brethren and Co-Workers with Christ,
Greetings from Charlotte, NC! This human society is truly near its prophesied end. A genuine World Government is badly needed. And it is coming soon! It will be set up on this earth with the arrival of Jesus Christ as King of kings.
Although very few people actually believe the Bible, your Bible describes God’s angel proclaiming: “The kingdoms of this world [not up in heaven!] have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Rev. 11:15). The true Gospel is the Good News of that soon-coming Kingdom. After describing the final traumatic world events just prior to His return, Jesus Christ said, “So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near. Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all things take place” (Luke 21:31-32).
Meanwhile, as the supposedly enlightened political contenders for the U.S. Presidency battle over the real meaning of “lipstick on a pig,” they seem to have no idea about why America’s financial infrastructure is crashing down all around them, why our families are falling apart, or why the Creator God who does control the weather is allowing increasingly vicious storms, alternating drought and floods and other “natural” catastrophes to come upon us as never before!
The indescribable brutalities of murder, rape, torture and starvation being visited upon hundreds of millions of people in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and parts of central and South America literally cry out for a stable, loving World Government!
That is the Government we are preparing for!
That is the Government which will bring a depth of peace, prosperity and genuine happiness such as has never been experienced by the peoples of this earth as a whole. We who understand are “called” to prepare! For we—through Christ in us—are to “grow in the grace and knowledge” of Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18)—and allow God to place within us Christ’s very character so that we may be fit to rule under Him over the cities and nations of this world.
My friends, we have been telling you through this Work with increasing urgency that the end of this human society is really coming! Many of you may think that our cry is simply, “wolf, wolf!” We understand that. For so many have cried “wolf” in the past, and the events they predicted did not occur—at least at that time. But, now, a virtual cascade of world events is occurring which Jesus prophesied would, in fact, precede His return. Many of you realize that. We have perhaps only a few more years to prepare. We may have only a few more years to “get out the message” of the coming Kingdom of God—the genuine World Government which Christ prophesied. Frankly, that is the only solution to this world’s problems. As we see the weather conditions and storms and hurricanes and earthquakes increasing, as we see the brutalities of the dictators in Africa, the Middle East and Asia literally crushing their people underfoot, and as we see our own financial infrastructure in Britain and America crashing down, do we begin to realize that there is a prophesied meaning in all of this? I sincerely hope so. Meanwhile, the Eternal God has given us a commission. We are commanded by the living Jesus Christ—sitting right now at the throne of God: “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:15-16).
However, very few—even among sincere religious leaders—genuinely understand that Christ’s Gospel was not just about His Person. It was rather His message of a coming World Government. This World Government was described back in Daniel 2 when God’s prophet Daniel described the four great world-ruling kingdoms coming down clear to the end of human society. Describing the “fourth kingdom” which would have, ultimately, “ten toes”—actually the ten nations or groups of nations described in Revelation 17 who give their power to the “Beast”—Daniel stated, “And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever” (Dan. 2:44).
We—in this Work—have the honor and privilege of proclaiming the return of the “fifth kingdom”—the Kingdom of God which will follow upon the other four ruling kingdoms. For the Kingdom of God is not the Church; it is not just a sentimental feeling in the hearts of men. It is, in fact, a genuine World Government soon to be set up under Jesus Christ on this earth. For Jesus—speaking through His Word—tells us through the inspired Song of the Saints that God has “redeemed” us to God by Christ’s blood and has “made us kings and priests to our God; and we shall reign on the earth” (Rev. 5:9-10). More than any other religious work on earth today, this Work—proclaiming the Truth through Tomorrow’s World telecast and magazine—is powerfully proclaiming not only the return of Christ, but also the real need to prepare ourselves to join Christ in ruling the cities and nations of this earth. We truly do need to take these things seriously, brethren. We need to “cry out” and do all we can to overcome ourselves, to overcome the world and to overcome Satan the Devil and his distractions and discouragements so that we may—through Christ in us—develop the genuine character of Christ and be far more able to fairly and lovingly rule over the confused and suffering peoples of this earth when Christ returns.
If any of you have not yet done so, I urge you to write in for a free enrollment in the Tomorrow’s World Bible Study Course! For your sake, please do everything you can to overcome, to grow in the character of Christ, and to prepare yourself to join the true Jesus Christ in His coming Government. Certainly, in the resurrection from the dead, you will be given far more power and wisdom with which to assist Christ in ruling the world. Yet, over and over, God shows us in His Word that we should be the “overcomers” and do our part in preparing to join Christ in this wonderful opportunity in straightening out the world, in bringing genuine peace to the world and wiping away the tears of countless millions of human beings who have been suffering because of wrong government under the misguided human leaders of this world’s governments today. As Jesus said, “And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations—‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; they shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’—as I also have received from My Father” (Rev. 2:26-27).
Right now—as I write—hundreds of additional men and women are being moved by God’s Spirit to join with us—some from other Church of God groups, some from among our former brethren who dropped away from the apostatizing Worldwide Church of God, and many from the world who are being brought newly into contact with the Truth through this Work. We are now prepared to “launch” the most powerful crusade in modern history to finish the Work! Building on the foundation Christ laid through Mr. and Mrs. Herbert W. Armstrong way back in 1933, we—many of us who served as ministers under Mr. Armstrong—are ready to “go all out” to finish this job. God has laid this upon our hearts and has given us this challenge and this opportunity.
So, in these closing years of human government under Satan’s sway, we urge you—in Jesus’ name—to join us in this tremendous Crusade! Please do everything you can to prepare for God’s Kingdom! And please do everything you can, also, to assist us in getting this message to the world as a final “witness” before the end, “feeding” God’s people and assisting them in every way to grow in grace and in knowledge “unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Eph. 4:13), and so to be genuinely prepared to join with Christ in reaching out to “rescue” hundreds of millions of human beings from starvation, disease, suffering and brutality under evil human leaders when Christ returns as King of kings.
Many wonderful “doors” are now beginning to open up for this Work to proclaim the Gospel with increasing power! Again, please join us with your prayers, with your generous tithes and offerings, and by doing your part in every way in preparing for the most magnificent event in all human history—the return of the real King of this world, Jesus Christ!
