Roderick C. Meredith (1930-2017)

Dear Brethren and Co-Workers with Christ,

Greetings from Charlotte, NC! I am sure that you understand that this society around us really is coming to an end. With all of the wars, human strife, violence and hate around us growing, this world really does “cry out” for the righteous Government of Christ. This coming Kingdom—or Government—will soon be here to straighten things out in a way that human beings could never do.

At this “Xmas” time, millions will be talking sentimentally about “little Lord Jesus,” along with Santa Claus and all the pagan aspects of the season. Though they may occasionally hear the refrain from Handel’s Messiah proclaiming Christ as “King of kings and Lord of lords” (Revelation 19:16), to the vast majority of people in our confused world, this is just “religious fluff.” For the God of the Bible and the real Jesus Christ of the Bible have never been proclaimed to them.

However, hopefully, most of you regular readers of Tomorrow’s World do understand the reality of the God of the Bible. You know that an entire panorama of world events is now beginning to come together to fulfill the prophecies we have proclaimed for so many years. You and I have been part of the “Work” of the living God to help people know about the true God, to understand the need to keep His commandments and to truly “walk with God” through Christ living His life within us (Galatians 2:20). By giving our life to God now, we are certainly “laying up treasure” for our part in Tomorrow’s World. We are, in fact, the “advance guard” of the Kingdom of God which will soon come with total power to this earth when Christ returns to “shake” every mountain and every island out of its place as He returns in magnificent glory to rule this planet!

As some of you know, I was baptized by Herbert W. Armstrong in the lower gardens of Ambassador College on December 19, 1949—65 years ago. After three years of training—as Christ trained His disciples—I was then ordained an Evangelist along with a few others on December 20, 1952. Now, I am the longest serving of the original Evangelists ordained by Herbert W. Armstrong and am carrying on this Work with all the strength I have.

At this time in my life, age 84½, I ask myself, “How much have I been serving my Creator for this past year?” I hope all of you will ask the same question, “How much have I actually served my Creator during this past year?” In many different ways in the Bible, God instructs us: “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Psalm 90:12). Each of us needs to “number our days” and do all we can to have a genuine impact in the very Work Almighty God is doing through His servants at the end of this age. In that way, we will be honoring the God who gives us life and breath. We will be doing our part with zeal and laying up treasure for all eternity. Through this very Work—of which all of you are members or co-workers—Christ is working and beginning to get out the message of His coming world Government with increasing power and clarity to a very mixed up and suffering world.

We are very thankful for a huge new door that God has opened up for us to go on air with “CBS Reality TV” in the United Kingdom, which has now become our number one network in the UK! I am now also very thankful to announce that the telecast is also now available around the world on Google TV, Apple TV as well as on our long-standing Roku channel. And, God-willing, we will be able to launch a channel on Amazon Fire very soon! This is very exciting! As one of our members who just heard the news wrote about our launch on these “Internet TV” platforms—“Thank you Father for open doors and blessings galore!!! I got chill bumps reading this! This is fabulous news. There is no one else reaching out like this through all these avenues! Yes, God is truly blessing HIS work!” Yes, God is truly blessing His Work as we do our best to go through these “open doors” to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and the Ezekiel warning to all of modern Israel and indeed, the whole world as commanded in Matthew 24:14, Mark 16:15 and elsewhere. If you have not recently, I encourage you to “check out” the TV Log listing on our Web site at www.tomorrowsworld.org/tune-in where you will see a comprehensive listing of the local, national and international stations, as well as the “Internet TV” platforms that we are on.

Of course, in addition to the above mentioned Internet Television initiative, we continue to invest and work hard to keep growing our Internet and Social Media presence as well. We are now approaching nearly 4,100,000 views of Tomorrow’s World video content on our YouTube channel, and have more than 104,000 followers at our main Facebook page—many of which are very active in sharing posts and articles with their friends on social media. We have also recently launched another exciting new initiative called Tomorrow’s World News, which are brief video webcasts addressing important world news events in the light of Bible prophecy. Just in the last few weeks, these have received over 6,000 views, and many positive comments from people all around the world! You can find these webcasts on our TomorrowsWorld.org Web site. Additionally, as reported before, our Web presence is growing in other languages as well—now with more than 89,000 fans of our French Facebook page and more than 25,000 fans of our Spanish Facebook page. We are very thankful for the growth that God has given us in television station coverage as well as in Internet growth, but we realize we must do much, much more to reach this world. So, we thank you for your prayers and support!

So Almighty God is using you as a “tool” to help get His message to this entire world! As I am driving myself to carry on at age 84, I hope all of you will be doing the same to give of yourselves—your time, your talents, your energy, your resources—with all your heart to “finish the Work” which Christ is doing through us at this time. This truly should be our “reason for being.” Our very purpose for life. The thing that drives us forward. As Jesus said, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work” (John 4:34).

As we come close to the end of this calendar year, I realize that we have not yet finished God’s Work by any means. There are still hundreds of millions of human beings in the Western world who have not yet heard our message. So I urge all of you to give of all that you can yet this year to help us get the Work going with increasing power! Most of you know that if your tithes and offerings are sent in within the next few days and postmarked by December 31, your tithe or offering may be considered tax deductible for 2014. You may also make donations on our TomorrowsWorld.org Web site using a credit card or PayPal. All you have to do is click the “Donate” button at the bottom of the home page. Your donations will allow many others like yourself to hear the good news of the coming Kingdom of God.

Dear brethren and co-workers, we truly are in the “Laodicean Era” at this time. Even most professing Christians are weak, and even nominal interest in Christian religion is dropping fast. For the real truth of the Bible has not been and is not being widely preached. But we in this Work do have the courage to stand up and preach the full Truth even though it is not popular. I know that you know this. But I hope that you, personally, are not “Laodicean.” Speaking of the very last era of God’s Church, the “Laodicean Era,” Jesus Christ Himself directly stated: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth” (Revelation 3:15-16).

May God help all of us “wake up” and “stir ourselves” to go all out to fulfill God’s supreme purpose for our lives. I urge you, in Jesus’ name, to give generously at this time—even in addition to your regular tithes. This Work must go forward. This confused world desperately needs the awesome message we have to give. So let every one of us go all out to do our part—and to be confident of the awesome reward we will receive when Christ returns as King of kings.

With Christian love,

Roderick C. Meredith

P.S. Please remember that any contributions dated in December that are postmarked on or before 12/31/2014 will be counted as year 2014 donations, and may be tax-deductible in 2014, even if we receive them in January 2015.
