Roderick C. Meredith (1930-2017)

Dear Brethren and Co-Workers with Christ,

Greetings from Charlotte, NC! It is truly surprising how rapidly Satan and his cohorts are taking over our entire society. Now it is “normal” to believe that men can “decide” to become women and women can just “decide” to become men. Now, the news is coming that “sologamy” is a small but growing trend. This weird practice is just an extension of the perverted behavior that has taken over other aspects of society.

So what is “sologamy”? It is the practice of men or women simply “marrying” themselves! That is horrible! Our “modern” young people—especially young women—are beginning to have elaborate “wedding ceremonies” where they are committing to “marry” themselves. “Over at CNN, Anderson Cooper interviewed a North Dakota woman, Nadine Schweigert, who also married herself in front of some 40 close friends. CNN quoted her as saying in her vow to herself as saying this: ‘I, Nadine, promise to enjoy inhabiting my own life and to relish a lifelong love affair with my beautiful self’” (Christianity Today, February 3, 2016).

Where are the professing “Christian” ministers amid all this moral chaos today taking over our society? With very few exceptions, the “mainstream” ministers are saying—nothing! That is why Almighty God inspired the Apostle Peter—in the last epistle he wrote before his death—to powerfully warn us: “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly” (2 Peter 2:1-6).

Dear brethren and co-workers, Passover is coming! On the evening of April 21, thousands of true Christians will be observing Christ’s Passover. It is a solemn memorial of the suffering and death of our Savior Jesus Christ. He shed His blood for our sins! He gave His body to be broken in a horrible “scourging” that—“by His stripes we are healed.”

As some of us continue to live to see the end of Satan’s society, it is important to understand that all of us should truly “examine” ourselves to see if we are honoring our Savior and our Creator by surrendering so that Jesus Christ may live His life within us through the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 13:5).

Most of you who have decided to become co-workers have had a chance to read our literature and “check us out” for many months or years, and you realize that this Work is truly “different.” We are not afraid to obey God’s command: “Cry aloud, spare not; lift up your voice like a trumpet; tell My people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins” (Isaiah 58:1). We in this Work are committed to call a spade a spade. We are determined to powerfully preach Christ’s warning message to the entire world—to all our nations and people whom we love. But we are only able to do this through Christ living within us through the Holy Spirit. For Christ is alive. He is the “living Head” of His Church and His Work. As Christ gave His life for us, all of us truly understanding this should do everything we can to further the Work which Christ and the Father are doing right now through converted human beings.

We are to do everything we can to proclaim His genuine message about the coming “Kingdom of God”—the soon coming World Government which Jesus Christ will lead as “King of kings” (Revelation 19:16). For Jesus Himself set us an example and Jesus stated: “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together” (John 4:34-36).

So Jesus’ “food”—the very thing that gave Him strength and purpose—was to do God’s Work! Again, Jesus proclaimed: “I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work” (John 9:4). Truly the “night” is coming soon as our society today is obviously coming apart and will soon come to an end through the prophesied intervention of our Creator. We need to show God by our actions that we really do want to do His will in carrying on the Work which Jesus Christ is leading today!

Are you, personally, deeply concerned about the astonishing perversion which I described in the opening paragraphs of this letter? Do you begin to see the “handwriting on the wall” that it is truly time for the great God of heaven to intervene before it is too late? Do you see how we in this Work are trying with all of our hearts to get the Gospel out more and more on television, on the Internet, through the magazines and booklets we publish, through the campaigns we hold all across the United States and around the world and in every single way we can? Will you then join with us wholeheartedly in supporting this Work more and more so we can have a far greater impact on this very confused world before it is too late? I would like to remind all of you who are Church brethren: two of God’s Holy Days occur during the coming Days of Unleavened Bread immediately following the Passover. The Eternal God tells us in His inspired Word that we are to give offerings to Him during these days: “Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you” (Deuteronomy 16:17).

In the New Testament, God inspired the Apostle Paul to tell the Christians to learn to give generously: “Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren to go to you ahead of time, and prepare your generous gift beforehand, which you had previously promised, that it may be ready as a matter of generosity and not as a grudging obligation. But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:5-8).

So the great God who gives us life and breath will “bless us” and cause His grace to abound toward us so we will always have all the sufficiency for every need! He is our Father. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. He will guide and bless those who truly serve Him with all their heart. So every one of us should try to give to God very generously at this time. The Work of God desperately needs to grow and have an increasing impact on this increasingly sick and wretched society! You know this! Each of us has a part to do. May God inspire all of you to go “all out” in doing what you can to further the Work of the great God on earth today while you have the opportunity. May God bless, encourage and guide you as you walk with Him.

With Christian love,

Roderick C. Meredith
