“...my heart stands in awe of Your word.” — Psalm 119:161
Jesus Christ declared that His people would be sanctified by God’s word (John 17:17), and God looks upon those who tremble at it (Isaiah 66:1–2). The Living Church of God stands unapologetically upon the foundation of the Bible for its beliefs, doctrines, and practices.
The Book, Not a Creed
The Living Church of God does not subscribe to an extra-biblical creed or “confession,” but bases its doctrine, practice, and governance directly on God’s word. We make all of our beliefs public and available to the world, seeking to live and teach “the whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27).
God’s Word over Tradition
We obey the admonitions of Scripture to worship God in the manner He desires, and no other (Deuteronomy 12:32; Mark 7:6–7). Therefore, the members and congregations of the Living Church of God observe the Holy Days commanded in the Bible and kept by Jesus Christ, His Apostles, and the first-century church, and avoid worship practices originating in pagan customs.
The Whole Bible
Our members seek to live by the entirety of the Bible, both Old and New Testaments—recognizing that the New completes what was anticipated by the Old, but recognizing, as well, that the Old is “able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” (2 Timothy 3:15).
A Weekly Connection
Our weekly Sabbath services focus on the Bible as the basis of their instruction, citing numerous passages in our messages in support of our teaching. Most of our hymns are adaptations of the Psalms, and the simple order and practices of our services are rooted in biblical example.
Through regular sermons and Bible studies, our member magazine the Living Church News, local ministry, and programs such as Living Education, the Living Church of God works to equip all of its members to ground their faith and walk in Scripture.
